Derek started out as a photographer in Steamboat Springs Colorado. He moved to San Diego and began covering shows of live bands for local publications such as No Cover, Revolt in Style, and Modern Fix. Soon he started capturing the energy of nightclubs. The majority of these photos where for Where Magazine and Busty DJs.com. This progressed into photographing models. He is currently a staff photographer for the San Diego Reader and Chief photographer for Krown Magazine.
